Children’s Activities

Endless adventures await our youngest explorers at Mount Little Station.

At Mount Little Station, we know that exploring the Flinders Ranges is even more memorable when children are engaged and entertained. That’s why we’ve created a range of fun, safe and interactive activities designed especially for young adventurers. From hands-on animal encounters to discovery trails and creative challenges, there’s something for every child to enjoy.

Daily Animal Feeding

Every morning, families are invited to join our team for daily animal feeding. Children can meet our friendly farm animals, learn about their care, and get up close in a safe and supervised environment. It’s always a highlight of the day for little ones.

Wilson’s Wanderers Orienteering Map

Set off on a family adventure with our Wilson’s Wanderers Orienteering Map. Follow the clues, spot the orange-and-white flags, and collect letters to solve the mystery word. It’s a fun way for kids to learn navigation skills and explore the natural surrounds of the station.

Pirates Cave & Castle Hill Maze

Unleash imaginations at the Pirates Cave, a favourite hideaway for curious explorers, or test your skills in the Castle Hill Animal Maze. Along the way, children will encounter playful challenges, animal clues, and plenty of space to run, climb and discover.

Activity Pack Adventures

Our Mount Little Wanderers Activity Pack is filled with games and puzzles like “I Spy Mount Little,” Bingo, word finds and spot-the-difference challenges. The pack encourages kids to observe nature, discover hidden details around the property, and learn more about our animals and environment. Available at check-in for $10.

School Holiday Fun

During school holidays, we run a program of group activities designed for families. Past favourites include face painting, dance classes and creative children’s workshops. It’s a great way for kids to make new friends and create memories while parents relax.

Safe & Sustainable Explorers

At Mount Little, we encourage our youngest guests to be Sustainability Wanderers. The children’s program teaches water-saving, waste management and road safety in simple, hands-on ways, helping kids learn how to care for country while having fun.

A Place for Little Adventurers

Whether it’s feeding a donkey, solving the orienteering map, or spotting kangaroos on a walk, children will find endless opportunities for adventure at Mount Little Station. Our activities are designed to spark curiosity, foster respect for nature, and create special family memories in the Flinders Ranges.

“Restore balance. Most kids have technology, school and extracurricular activities covered. It’s time to add a pinch of adventure, a sprinkle of sunshine and a big handful of  outdoor play.“
